Machines don't break sitting in the shed. But might break faster with Nick driving.

Nick can remove a tire faster then any Nascar pit crew while sitting on a seat. That's impressive.

Hence why your a nice healthy size. One of my hay fields has a few eucalyptus trees on one edge and eucalyptus trees love dropping dead branches. I pick the branches before, during cutting tedding and raking then I go round on the quad and pick a few more before baling. Eucalyptus trees are a very hard wood and they can do alot of damage. Last season I bent the stationary knife on the baler. Pissed me right off as it was a brand new knife.

A branch that big would be impossible not to see! Sounds like the operator didn’t have his head in the game.

Good old Nick, sometimes destructive but always entertaining!

Is that a grain dryer peaking in the corner of the barn behind the round baler? 🤔

Make him pay for damage. He'll be more careful after that.

I wouldn't have paid $200 bucks for that-- just a slab of flat iron with some holes and a spindles welded through it. Easy fix. Flatten it out with a sledgehammer and a couple blocks or an anvil... no big deal I've done that lots of times on stuff... or a hydraulic press if you got one or got a neighbor with one. Cut the old spindle out with the torch and get a new one and weld it in. Not even threaded so a guy could weld a big bolt through it (already hardened) and weld the bolt head on the backside of the bar all the way around, and maybe lay a bead in on the front side. Just gotta get it all straight in a vice and tack weld it before you burn it in place. Put the wheel on, shim it, and put a lock nut on the end... or drill it for a cotter pin like it had. Half an afternoon fixing that is worth saving $200 bucks for part with $10 bucks in materials in it! OL J R :)
