Came here from Reddit to say thanks for the great comparison! Well done!

The “oily” refraction sounds like a common issue with matte finishes with high ppi panels. This observation also happens to the new iPad Pro nano texture coating even its a RGB sub pixel arrangement.

got the LG (white version) for $920 after tax and I think thats the best OLED deal. WOLED has better text clarity + I prefer matte so Im not staring at my reflecting all day + 480hz + supposedly better burn in performance on LG/WOLED.

Straight to the point, concise, and focuses on the important things. Great video!

3:01 These images look pretty darn different to me. The MSI has a red hue shift over the whole frame in comparison. Any insight into which is more true to source?

I just got an Asus monitor XG27AQDMG which is a glossy WOLED (panel made by LG). Really happy with it since I have been looking for a glossy OLED at a more reasonable price for a long time.

I almost got an MSI QD-OLED but switched to the Asus because I wanted the "black is black" characteristic of WOLED.

Thanks for being objective on this comparison. Picked up the LG due to me not really being big on playing games in a dark room. I was wondering if I was missing out on some huge difference with colors between the two panel types the way people talk about them in comparisons on Reddit.

Thank you for mentioning the clarity and the reflection issue on WOLED. A lot if people fail to mention these issues, for me reflections on matt is worse than glossy. At least with glossy you can still see the image on screen when theres light behind you.

4:30 this behaviour is caused by coatingtype + the pixel layout + pixel density + viewing distance. there really is no easy fix to this except nano texture/lens corrected coating, which has just been developed now on the ipad pro 2TB and called Nanotextureglas or going complete glossy.

Not even looking for a monitor. But gotta say your video is better than some 1M+ subscriber channels. Continue like this and you will be really successful. Best of luck! 🙂👍

How does the 1080p mode look? Some claim it’s really blurry… some claim otherwise.

2:10 i've had that on multiple monitors so far. my guess is windows, when viewing HDR content, screws up. i mean come on, it's windows.

I think it's annoying you have to choose between Alienware's QD-OLED (Which comes with Dolby Vision) and the competitors which only have things like true/native DP 2.1. All monitors over 1, 000 in cost should come with DV.

Is the LG really that much more blue-ish than the MIS one? It's incredibly noticable but I feel like it wasn't mentioned here at all

Is the WOLED coating different from other matte coatings? I'm wondering because I have an older matte monitor right now and don't have any issues with the coating, even after comparing it to the qd-oled

One thing that not many reviews talk about is VRR flicker in games. Maybe that's something you can include in the future.

Idk why they haven’t made a micro led monitor. Like I love oled on tvs but with a small display I think its hard to dissipate the heat which is why these oled monitors are generally low in brightness compared to their tv counterparts.

I have lights positioned just behind my monitor—will this cause any issues with display visibility or eye strain? I’m currently deciding between two monitors and I’m not sure which to pick. One of them is a QD-OLED—how does that compare in terms of quality?

For context, I have an LG Glossy TV and use both a MacBook and iPhone, so I’m familiar with high-quality displays, but I haven’t had the chance to test an LG monitor yet. I must admit, the 480Hz refresh rate sounds appealing, especially since some games don’t always run smoothly.

However, I work on my monitor all day—will a higher refresh rate or certain display types be more straining on my eyes? Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

Really great video! At 5:08, seeing both monitors next to each other displaying mostly black area, the msi looks very light grey to me. Was this noticeable in real life or is it because of taking a video of the panel? Or is it an intense example of the raised blacks on qd oled?
