A friend of mine bought this album when it released. I remember the ape on the album cover sitting in the middle console. It’s funny this song was just a random song we would listen to on our ways to and from various events in our late teens just enjoying the vibe not appreciating the recall this song would have. Now, at 40, that instrumental breaks in, and I close my eyes, and I could almost be 15 again.

It was released in February 1998. Worst period in my life (school bullying and a whole bunch of problems making for a very angry and depressed teen). This song and its video came as a much needed breath of fresh.. Air (lame pun fully assumed). I bought the CD soon thereafter, still have it. Moon safari is awesome, I love every single track.

Something about French Pop that is so enchanting and eminently likable.

Sexy Boy is sweet like all great pop but it has a subtle undercurrent of sexiness which is something the French do so effortlessly. It feels like stardust has been sprinkled all over the song. The 90s was such a fantastic time for music.
