How to automatically shut down on idle on Windows 10

it works but too complicated for most users, there should have been a direct option from the shutdown menu

Without the /f option to force the shutdown it will not shutdown with programs such as Word, Excel, Notepad, ect that have not saved the files.

Thank you that was very helpful; however; I tried it on my Windows 10 PC and had some challenges.
My display and hard disk go to sleep in 5 minutes; as per the power plan settings. After creating the schedule, the computer does not turn off as per trigger i.e. in 1 hour. Is it because the hard disk is put to sleep?

I hope they don't include background tasks. Will the computer stay up if they have background tasks.
