Type 61 5+ MBTs vs. MS-06J Zaku IIs Ground Type

Two platoon of Earth Federation's Type 61 MBTs ambush a fireteam of MS-06J Zaku IIs of The Principality of Zeon, circa U.C 0079.

I don't own the video and what not, I only posted because it's one of the best direct tank vs. mechs engagement in media history (this is a stretch tbh.) and yet it's not on YouTube.

One point to remember is that the Zaku's MG's are really 120mm autocannons and their armor arranged specifically to handle similar calibers. Only way to quickly drop a Zaku in these tanks is a shot to the cockpit, which is what they're trying to do here.

They still shoulda been able to drop at least 2-3 Zakus while at range, but plot armor keeps em from landing shots despite having the advantage at range. The tanks would be screwed up close, tho.

Without Minovsky particles and fictional armour materials like Gundanium, the tanks would probably have been able to snipe the MSs from 3-4 kilometres away without getting in any real danger.

Honestly for them fighting against mechas with alot more technology and alot of plot armor, 2 out of 3 isn't a Bad number

Considering the minosky particles that jamming radar and long range radio. Also when Zeon commented earth bound operation, they destroyed any satellite so rendering the EFF any mean of communication and coordinating between troops.

As a tank, these M61s are perhaps some of the best MBTs around. The sole issue is, they were up against mobile suits, and despite being Zaku II they still lived up to the word "mobile".
Now I'm not too sure about the specs of either two, but anyone with common sense knows a bad engagement when they see one

An unrelated quiestion: is orbital fire support possible in Gundam? Like firing a beam cannon on a ship in close orbit. Of course, Minovsky particle interference, but against a large fixed target?

For a tank, they are very fast. The fire rate of the turret is also insane. No tanks in real life have that kind of fire rate. If these tanks exist in real life, they could surpass even the M1 Abrams by a large margin.
