Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak at the Summit of the Future at the United Nations General Assembly on September 23. PM Modi arrived in the United States on Saturday, September 21, for a three-day visit, beginning with the Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by outgoing President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware. The summit convened the leaders of India, the US, Australia, and Japan to address regional peace and development in the Indo-Pacific.

What was once created to promote peace and prevent global conflicts has become, for many, a platform for leaders to exchange pleasantries without making meaningful progress. Recent events, such as the wars in Ukraine, Gaza, and now Lebanon, highlight the UN's inability to prevent or resolve major conflicts. In today's world, it seems that power is held by those with nuclear capabilities. If the global system continues to fail, nations may feel compelled to focus on building their own nuclear arsenals for self-defense, as the UN no longer guarantees security.
