Well, sounds like they’re expecting the church to conform to what they want to hear rather than allowing the Word to teach them, convict them, and transform them. A good Bible-teaching church isn’t about “instruction on how to get things accomplished.” It’s about how to conform to Christlikeness. It’s about learning to humble yourself. It’s about living out the love of God. It’s about learning to live a life that glorifies God. I’m glad to hear he can’t find a church that instructs him on how to get things accomplished because that would not be a church where Christ is preached.

Their responses are "self" focused, and not about God or serving. Church is what Jesus established, and it's more about serving and giving. When we are solely focused on self and our development our way, it winds up being idolatry.

I wish the “women are emotional” rhetoric ceases, because men are emotional too. They display it in anger more where we show it by more sad emotions. Also, every woman is different with her emotions too.

Church isn’t the problem, because the Bible talks about conquering all over it. So the problem is really that y’all don’t read The Word to know what it actually says and then find a church that can help you grow in what it says.

A relationship with God is great therapy especially when you have had an experience with Him doing the impossible in your life.

Without a relationship it will seem that way. You can’t go to church a few times and make an assessment. You must submit, commit, and build. Just like any other relationship. It isn’t about the people per say, for fellowship - yes, getting sharpened - yes, healing - yes and so much more however if you don’t get to know the Lord for yourself going to church will continue to be a task, a chore. Without the Lord, I have no idea where I would be. We must stop depending on the “man/woman” to build this relationship, it’s a very personal journey.

I am a man and I go to church every Sunday. Of the last 7yrs I have not missed a service..

The church to me I have understood is the communion of brethren’s, you come to church struggling with something and you hear the testimony of another in a worse situation than yours and how God delivered, this builds my faith and trust more

Praying & reading your word is extremely important. Church is for community, to be around like minded individuals to praise our God together. It’s a place where we can be strong for the weak, wise for the foolish, helpers to the helpless… without church (gathering of God’s people) how can we help one another effectively?

I can’t imagine where I would be without my church fam. I am challenged to grow in every aspect of my life, I have a community of loving people who celebrate my wins with me and hold my hand/pray for me when I face challenges. You get out of church what you put in. Serving God by serving others is so fulfilling and under-Rated. I actually appreciated their perspective. As an avid church goer, aka pew baby, I am heavily active in servanthood/ministry. There are times I have felt similar.
