The ref did not call mavs ball. The ref called out of bounds, warriors ball (pointing warriors basket). Then Mavs called time out= ref points in mavs direction. Everyone confused because they didnt see the ref point initially towards warriors direction.

Ref never actually said mavs ball btw. After the play he said warriors ball and pointed in warriors direction. Then timeout was called and he pointed in the other direction to point at Jason Kidd to signal a timeout being called as refs to when a coach calls timeout. It was warriors ball. That was the call. Mavs got confused when ref pointed their direction or the timeout. What's cazy is how no one on the mavs went to go check w the refs or anything. And no one was down to inbound the ball anyway even if the mavs thought it was their ball.

This is on Jason Kidd. He most definitely drew up a play thinking it was their ball and they were advancing the ball to half court… which you can’t even do unless it’s the 4th QTR with less than 2 min left. The confusion is on Jason Kidd

For everyone saying the mavs were going to advance the ball: this is the 3rd quarter. You can only advance the ball at the 2 minute mark in the 4th. The mavs just had a brain lapse.

If the mavs were so sure it’s their ball why did no one go to inbound it? Why all the players up the court? Before the time out it clearly showed the refs indicated it’s warriors ball

Yeah ummm so you need two players to inbound a ball. Either way the Mavs are idiots in this too the fact they didn't have two people down there to inbound says they weren't paying attention

Refs called it right, the mavs and announcer were not paying attention and thought that when he pointed to the table to signal timeout they thought he was pointing for mavs possession. Watch the replay, he clearly indicates warriors possession initially. Then clearly calls a timeout, then points to the table (which was mistook by the mavs as pointing towards mavs possession).
