“Welcome to White Space”

“You’ve been living here for as long as you can remember...”

The white space music is so calming, but every time you hear “Welcome to white space. You’ve been here for as long as you can remember.” it hurts a little more

Something about this is so unsettling yet calming

This song feels like when your eating lunch alone and watch other kids run around but your having fun by just looking around in your thoughts by yourself.

are we not going to talk about "welcome to whitespace, you've been living here for as long as you remember"? hes been living in there for over 4 years. he chose to hide from his problems for so long that he doesnt even care about his memories pre-accident. his life is no longer the real world, its headspace. his whole world is his little coping mechanism that he used to repress his trauma with for 4 full years. depressing.

Imagine going to sleep in real life and waking in white space because you watch too much Omori.

Meow
(Are you waiting for something to happen?)

I like the white room, I want my own.

This song accomplishes what it sets out for so perfectly. It feels upbeat and safe, but also tense and frail like it could come apart at any moment. It's superficially safe. There's discord right under the surface. Unreal how perfectly this song handles white space.

This is what dreamcore/weirdcore sounds like

Omori is one of those games you feel nostalgic for a week after playing it

I realised a few days ago that the tune changes from this 8-bit sound to piano... no idea when it first changed though

Ahh yes, the theme of Lunch/Break Time from my high school/secondary school years. Walking about alone, day dreaming about my OCs going on adventures and being all powerful, solving mysteries, being awesome, and trying my best to forget the daily severe emotional abuse the "Special Needs Staff" would give me.
All the while constantly hiding my mental heath problems from eveyone, cause they scared me so much...
...One of my main OCs also used had a dream version of themselves that enjoyed using swords or daggers for stabbing...
...Love this game for many reasons, unrelated to myself.

A song that feels soothing yet lonely
Blank but because of that every song we hear after feels so alive
and when we return it's only lonely and sad.
There's a difference between a calming solitude and boxing yourself up. What omori was doing is obvious.
("Meow" Waiting for somthing to happen?)
Unless you express yourself and try to break out of that cycle you sink deeper into your own negative feelings. Your attack is lowered so to speak but you can still do damage, you can still try and make progress to better yourself.

You have been living here for as long as you can remember.

I love the image used in this ost
It looks super chaotic at first, but as you play the game, more and more things begin to feel more special
