I have a headcanon that the Whitespace Theme was actually a real music box that Mari and Sunny's parents brought to them, and when Sunny had nightmares, cried or just couldn't sleep she would play this and Sunny would fall asleep in a blink of eyes.
And while Whitespace itself is a place of "safety", where the Truth can't seep in, this is the song that constantly plays for Omori's pleasure and peace. One of the few things from the past that brings safety to Sunny.
