SKR Mini E3 v2 0 Install - Complete Guide

There is a lot of talk in the 3d printer community about the SKR Mini controller and the benefits it provides, so I wanted to test that out for myself. In this video, I cover the installation of the SKR Mini E3 v2 end to end using my Ender 3 Pro. The process may seem intimidating at first, but if you just sit down and work through it, it's actually not that bad at all. I think the process is actually easier than trying to upgrade the firmware on the stock board, but it does cost a little more money. Overall I am very pleased with this upgrade and think you will be as well.

This is best simplest instruction for upgrading Firmware i've found. most youtubers breeze past it assuming it's so simple they don't have to go into much detail about it. i'm very much more a hardware guy than software so i found this instruction really helpful so Thank you 👍

I know we've talked before with the fan shroud video, but once again... dude your videos are amazing. You legit walked me through EVERY LITTLE FREAKING STEP. I have a hard time finding ANY video that does this. Thank you thank you thank you. Gotta test print but the fact that it went as smoothly as it did is thanks to you!

Okay, so I need some help if you don’t mind... I’ve got a number of upgrades for my Ender 3, and I don’t know in which order I should do them...
Here’s my upgrade list:
- SKR-Mini E3 V2.0
- BLTouch
- Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB RAM) w/ V2 Pi Camera
- Microswiss All-Metal Hotend (Direct Drive Kit)

Also, I printed a hotend frame or chassis, whatever you call it (not a hero me, but similar) that has a Noctua fan and a 5015 blower fan that I’m going to have to wire and solder.

I’m new to 3D printing, and I bought all the odds and ends to upgrade it to make it quite, efficient, and able to print exotics filaments, but I’m now super overwhelmed 😂

Would greatly appreciate some guidance. Love the videos, they are very helpful. Thank you for what your doing, keep it up!

Just got an Ender 3 pro and added silicone spacers, the SK3, and bltouch, super helpful video! It definitely sounds quieter and looks a lot smoother

Thank you, very timely we are about to order a new board for our new Ender 3Pro which came with an 8 bit board, not the 32 that many are shipping with. Will watch for further updates before we decide on a board. Many Thanks for all your help.

I purchased mine for $75.99 on amazon, and this included a package deal with the touch screen included. This was absolutely worth it!

I made a rookie mistake and didn't put my tape label on tight enough for the two red wires going to the hot end. You mention some sort of coating but for the life of me I can't see a difference. Do you have a better description for these two. I can't really get a meter on to the hot end and would prefer not to take the tape and everything off unless it's a last resort. Thanks a million, your videos have been great help!

Hey guys! just wanted to let you know. DONT ADD THE TEXT .bin to the firmware. if you're on windows or mac, its already downloaded as a .bin file. you just need to change the name to "firmware">> all you're doing by adding .bin is calling the file "firmware.bin.bin"

simply download the file and just call it "firmware" > move it to your SD card>> Eject and put in your printer

hope this saves you guys a huge headache

Installing my SKR V1.4 Turbo now, but using the TMC 2208 V3.0 drivers. Can't remember why I chose the TMC 2208. Also have the BL Touch. Thank you for sharing your tutorial.

Far too late but isopropyl alcohol loosens hot glue. I just dipped a q-tip in some and dabbed it around the blob of hot glue, wait 30 seconds and it comes off clean in a single piece. Hope this helps someone in the future!

Incredibly good explanations, you make it easy to understand. However, I have a wish. Could you try to get an even better picture of what you do? Less hands in the picture and more focus on, for example, what you screw on. Great job!
