it would be more effective to do a “lunge block” with the opposite arm while the mirroring arm stays high in an effective shot blocking position. so on a right handed player i would have my left arm up in a blocking position and i would use my right arm to knock down the chest or extend for the ball effectively turning my back to the defender while being heavy on the strong side. This is more effective when it comes to protecting yourself from a strong side turn and gives you the ability to have a shot blocking arm up through the entire encounter. Hope this helps.

Just wondering, if I reach for the other person’s bicep and do end up hitting it will that be a foul or would I be able to swim forward to get the ball?

I play water polo in Bulgaria where the "lunge block" is a penalty shootout so my best option is either go for the ball or block the ball

What if you're on offence and the recipient of a lunge block. What are ways to deal with lunge blocks / prevent lunge blocks when having the ball?

When playing defense, should I keep my eye on the player or the ball after they throw the ball behind me

Would doing a lunge block to an opponents bicep before a goal shot violate the new rules regarding “probable goals”
