I did the same harness on my 66, took me about a month with my busy schedule and by myself. I had never done wiring before but this kit made it easy, just take your time with it.

I performed this project in 2018. I am a total novice and after watching this video, I can see that I did quite a few things the hard way. The customer support at Painless is world class but this video would have been an enormous help. Nonetheless, this was a very worthwhile project and, as a rookie when it comes to this stuff, I really learned a lot about my '66. I recommend it.

Probably the best video so far. One thing I would have used is insulation to keep wires together, and heat shrink on the terminals. Just me..

For the rear - I would have attached the new harness to the old one using tape and fished it to the back when pulling out the old one.

This is nice. I'd love to do this transition, but at nearly a $1000 I'm going to have to put that on hold and tackle some of the more pressing issues on my '66. Maybe one day.

I've replaced all wiring harnesses in my 68 Mustang (nine total), it's worth the effort.

I'm in the process of installing the painless wire harness for my 69 coupe (Part #20122 Direct Fit Mustang Chassis), and it has been a slow process given that it's my first time ever doing anything like this. The manual is very helpful though, and the kit comes with everything you'll need. Just take your time with it, save the old pigtails, save the turn signal wiring connector, and consider buying the Painless PowerBraid Kit.

I’m doing this right now with my grandpa. Been hacking at it on weekends for about a year and almost done, just having trouble with a 3g alternator conversion and horn issues

Excellent. I am at the stage of my build where it is time to select a harness. I was looking at the Painless and the American Auto both look like they are nice additions but after watching this install, I have made my mind up. Painless.
I do have a question though. Do you recommend adding the under dash ac before running the wiring?

Very good content! That's my next project for my 1963 Falcon.
Bill, no "you'll be back on the road in no time" on this show???😉

Will this kit work if going to a one wire alternator? Just don’t use the voltage regulator wires? Also why wouldn’t this work on a 64-1/2?

what's your best guess on man hours for this installation?

I noticed, that you didn’t mention extra wires, for a convertible top. Are they separate?
