When I wake up I oil pull with coconut oil then brush then eat. I just swoosh with water after I eat or finish a drink during the day. Then I wait 90 min after dinner to brush. Just trying to incorporate all the info I've heard and read about . It's exhausting 😂

Hey Doc. I’m a practicing dentist for 45 years. I appreciate this perspective. What about water picking right after. My patients that started doing that, had a huge cavity and perio reduction. I used to suggest xylitol products. I found with myself the increase in bladder stones with xylitol. I also believe the scientific peer reviewed studies that don’t recommend ingesting xylitol. May have cardiac effects. I am not big on adjuncts. I believe in Dr Nathan Bryan’s studies with nitric oxide. I believe there is nothing more important than technique. And, don’t eat those food items that lower your oral ph. Hahahahah. I know that is a little unrealistic. Anyways. Thank you, I hope you don’t mind me sharing.

Xylitol is good for oral health, but for some of us ingesting can be a detriment. Thanks Jesse, you cover all aspects of health!

In movies and on tv you see people brushing their teeth the minute they get up. Is that wise or complete nonsense?

Would using a straw, lessen the impact as the liquid is not bathing / swooshing the teeth?

Nonsense. One, we use a soft brush so it doesn’t scrape everything away. Two, scraps settled in between gaps between teeth will create more bacteria and then cavities. A light brushing and mouthwash then xylitol will help a lot. This was a dumb interview.
