The BBC micro was too expensive, for many people, but a ZX81 with an IO card was great for learning how to control stuff. Spent many hours making LED panels etc. The RasPi is a great modern equivalent to that setup. Long may it continue. Working in computer engineering all my life, it is clear that we need more people interested in lower level computing, the foundations of everything that sits above it. It's a pity that languages like C are being replaced by higher level ones that don't lend themselves to use in embedded systems. Don't forget, many higher level languages are written in C.

I would like to know more about the actual curriculum of the "bad" A-Level in Computer Science from around 2005-ish.
Woah... I've always been a great fan of "blowing raspberries"... I think all punk rock songs should end with a raspberry instead of a drum roll ;) I never noticed that Raspberry Pis were also a raspberry.
