The propeller adds gyroscopic stability, you wont get that with a rocket motor

What about the influence the torque of the motor has on the gyrations? Doesn’t that cause miscalculation?

Needs a coaxial (counter rotation) setup to cancel out the torque twist. I guess if it's in a fixed gimbal it doesn't matter though. Nice test stand!

Not really, the motor and prop act as a gyroscope, and most stability issues come from aerodynamics.

You need to stabilize the Z axis using rollerons (like in the AIM-9 Sidewinder) or use a small servo-controlled flap to keep the rocket from spinning n.v g on the Z-axis, or you likely won't be able to manually compensate for the roll. That could result in a dangerous situatiin.

With a sort of short gimbal/rotatable wings it could give it more control. But with that addition you might get some MiBs at your door, this is so cool to see. Wish I had this stuff as a teen, I wouldve had an armada of flyable/driveable vehicles to play with.

I fancied doing this, but in the UK making rocket motors requires explosives storage and transport permits, and adding any control system makes it a guided missile and will immediately have you landed in the clink

This just corrects for tilt angles but you need to have lateral x and y movement to constantly adjust and keep the center of gravity directly under the prop. This rig, although cool, would let you do that.

You should test how much resistance it can handle. Try adding more weight to the top to see if it can counteract it.
