I bought mine off of aliexpress they list them saying they have open gd77 but mine did not come with open gd77. honestly for the price and with open gd77 its a great bargain. using mine as my mobile hotspot in my vehicle. you can also adjust the power level up to 5w. awesome for a mobile hotspot.

Nice video! I was wondering what radio as my first dmr I should buy, between the 1701 and the 1702. Could I flash Opengd77 on the 1702 and, if it's that possible, could it do APRS?

So there's no "codeplug" needed? I have an ancient GD-77 that I still have not figured out yet. But then again I can't even get DSTAR to work on my Kenwood D75 either. Thankfully I didn't buy the Kenwood for DSTAR or even APRS. So I'm not too concerned. But still would like to get it working on DSTAR though. Would make it slightly more worth the $800USD price I paid.
