What chemical would you use to remove oil from a concrete driveway? Is it the same or different than the one used on pavers?

l live in a medieval ltalian village paved with grey cobbled stones. Someone left a rubber(?)skid/track mark right in front of my door. Any idea what might take it off?

Just used about a cap full of laundry detergent on a stain the size of roughly 2 car tires. Few years old/ being added to daily.

Pour detergent on dry surface. Massage in with fingers. Don't need excess, just enough to cover stain/absorb onto it.

Let sit for 10-15 minutes. Scrub with either steel wool or hard brush (I used old toilet brush). One thorough pass of scrubbing is sufficient. Let sit for another 10-15. Hose off with water. Some ppl use boiling water, I found no difference.

I only needed one "treatment" of detergent/scrubbing. Now it matches area around it. Another pass may make it too clean, making it stand out. Like a reverse stain lol. Any laundry detergent should be fine. I've used arm and hammer and tide before. You can probably use Dawn dish soap and get same results. Cheers 🍻

Fast Orange, the hand soap, works well here. So does transmission fluid.

Here’s how I’ve always removed oil stains on pavers. If thick stains use soap, scrub and rinse then use a propane torch. If light stains use only a propane torch. It literally burns right off. Try it on a small block of paver if you don’t believe me

All my oil spills disappear o er winter . We use a oil absorbing gel at work that sucks the oil out over time and later peals off taking the oil with it.

Dawn dish soap works great. They used it on animals that were affected by the BP oil spill. Completely removes crude oil from them, and safe and non-toxic
