The bagpipe music during her funeral was one of the most emotional moments, I thought.

I love the second when Pipes is beaming with pride that the queen herself wants him to choose a tune.

Such an intimate moment. She calls him 'pipes'. this is a very special address. Warm and full well that she and he know each other. In Highland Regiments the pipe sar'nt major would always be addressed as 'PIPES'.

That is such a beautiful tune, and I can see why Her Late Majesty chose that particular piece for her funeral.

As an American who was stationed in Edzell, Scotland for 2 years I can easily understand why she wished to spend her last days there. I fell in love with Scotland - the people and scenery are both equally beautiful. I have always loved the bagpipes even before I had the privilege of living in Scotland.

The woman singing brought it all together. Lovely show.

The Queen's half Scottish, so is the United Kingdom and the Monarchy.
The Queen was awoken every morning her entire life by Bagpipes, like an Alarm Clock.

I do believe she knew her time was coming to an end and chose to die in Scotland. She was concerned it would be a bit of a logistical burden, but it wasn't really. Scotland can take pride in the fact that she was the nation where The Queen (not a queen, The Queen) chose to pass away after a long, long life. I support an independent Scotland, but am still proud that we were the first to pay her tribute and see her to her rest.

We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise last fall, and our cruise director had the privilege of being “The Queen’s Bagpipe” player for 2 years. What an honor.

I watched her funeral as they laid her in state a bagpiper walked through the chapel playing his pipes. It was sad. You may not liked the royal family but you gotta respect a funeral. Especially hers. She's been the queen since the 50s. She helped during WW2 as an ambulance driver and mechanic with the female armed forces. I cried as that piper walked through the halls of the church she was buried in.

I remember her funeral and the piper playing this as he walked out of the church and you heard it fade away. Still makes me cry to hear it.

1:44 "Will you play it for me?"
I love how he goes from respectfully nodding to:

"What, now?" he asks incredulously, completely dropping all formalities in that moment - such a Scottish thing to do. :)

"Yes Pipes, you" and " It's not a din, to me" epitomise Her Majesty in my mind. If HM really said those words I will never be sure but I like to think they fit with her personality.
God Bless, your Majesty. Always greatly missed.

Probably the best sound in Scotland. The skurl of the pipes. Sleep Dearie, Sleep has always been a favourite of mine. So glad he chose it to say farewell to our Queen
