Collete’s and Addy’s relationship was inappropriate. That is the textbook definition of grooming. Too many of y’all are blaming Addy for falling in love with Collete when it’s really Collete’s fault. 1) I don’t care how much y’all dislike Addy, that relationship was not her fault so stop victim blaming - it’s disgusting. 2) Addy is not the adult in that relationship so once again stop blaming her for falling in love with Collete.

I think all the characters in the show have their flaws, some more than others. Coach groomed Addy and was manipulative to her, Will, and Matt. Addy was plain dumb and her naivete was fueled by her ambition and obsession with the coach. Also, she's a major follower. She didn't know who she was as a person without Beth or coach. This is one of the reasons coach preyed on her. Coach saw her as weak and vulnerable because Addy's identity depended on others around her. Before coach, Beth was leading Addy. After coach arrived, she started leading Addy. Coach tried to control Beth when she first arrived, but couldn't because of Beth's strong personality. So, she stepped back and moved on to Addy. Beth had Addy's back, but is not that good of a person. She's a bully. Beth is clever and saw who Coach truly was from the first time she met her. Addy and Beth took each other for granted. Beth didn't appreciate Addy enough and Addy dumped the friend she knew all her life for a stranger. Addy saw Coach as a path to her big dreams and aspirations. So, she followed her and did anything Coach wanted.
