Everybody has a problem with this stupid Scratched fogged lens! Why Insta 360 engineers can make any solution to avoid this!

Lens protection is a scam. There is simply no product out there that would do the job well. That’s why I decided to not use any sort of protection. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I value video quality over safety.

Just use anti fogging spary on the inner surface and anti rain spray on the outer surface..

Just throwing this idea out there...I also wrote insta360 about this. Hoping someone smarter than me can figure out the details and let the rest of know how they did it or sell it. How about making a lens film that would be shaped like a contact lens that can be "stuck" to the lens. Like a screen protector for a cell phone, but with a concave surface where it adheres to the lens. This would remove the fogging issue since there is no air between the film and the lens. And when they get scratched they can be removed and replaced.

The lenses should be easy to replace with a screw thread, Insta360 really messed up with the design

The premium detachable lens guard version is not good. I've tried it and returned it because it gave off glare and artifacts in the video.

Just got the camera, and yeah :D im already having nightmares where i scratch the lense ! i realy hope they come up with some solution because im living in area with very high humidity (Malta) and that foging would be a deal braker . Please do post if you find some way of stopping the fog !

Designing the unit the way they did is a really poor manufacturing choice. It could have very easily been removable and still water resistant. They are really just looking to maximize their repair profits. A big finger to the customers.

Oh, for Fogs sakes - can anyone make decent lens protector. Just bought the Puluz upgraded "glass" lens. Feels more like a hardened plastic. Under overcast snowy conditions, the stitch line is visible particularly if there are vertical or horizontal lined objects in the image. There is adequate protection as one Tuber commented, he had to rub it on concrete in order to scratch the lens protector

Where do you guys put your x3 with sticky lens? It won’t fit in the regular case anymore due to the sticky lens

They should create a groove around the lens through which air can flow out when the lens guard is placed

The x4 absolutely must have easy user replaceable lenses. This current design is old and bad.

thinking about getting one, but Mexico is a dangerous place to be without protection....
thanks for the vid

To the author: it was necessary to paste the protection on the lenses in dry and cold air so that condensation did not occur between the lenses and the protection. It is hot and humid in Thailand: if you put on protection during the day, then overnight, by morning, the air under the protection cools down and can give dew.
