Wanna double your profits? Just charge more!

Homeless? Just buy a house!

Getting robbed? Tell them that's illegal!

As a business owner it's definitely not that easy, especially if you are bidding against other companies

I've gotta charge even more than Chris cuz I still need to pay for haircuts.

As a multi bussiness owner, i would say things do not work that easy. No succes come quick and fast.
Investing in yourself guys, that's the most valuable thing you ever had.
Stay strong guys.

It's called outsourcing. You don't need to do the work yourself as long as you are getting the business. Less time on project means more time growing the business. Eventually this will grow into a company.

I can't remember who said it but I read a quote that says, "a GOOD business knows what he's doing, but a WISE business man hires somebody with equal or better knowledge than himself to do certain jobs for the company"... something along those lines anyway.

I was gonna pay David $500 to complete my project. But then I found out I could pay Adam $1500 and he would deal with David for a score!

I’m a mobile rig welder. This strategy works in my field the same way. I have hired out guys that are better at one thing than i am and have yielded great results with more customers and jobs coming from it. Not to mention connections made wether it be just business or friendships. Good stuff.

55 seconds of pure invaluable knowledge. I personally done this and I grew my business 3x within 2 years.

I outsource my editing and charge accordingly. Eventually I’ll outsource my marketing and charge accordingly. Time is what I want to buy back as a parent.

And to charge accordingly it might take time since you have to build a brand/reputation

i feel like this strategy is tougher for creatives but that's the model for many agencies

Right this is great advice for someone wanting to start a graphic design agency :p
But the competition comes into play when the client just goes directly to the graphic designer who you intend to hire for a freelance gig... that’s the beauty of the freelance Industry...
no middle mad trying to take a cut off of your work.
This only works if you are offering the graphic designer your services of finding clientele and working out the deal .

3.5 x the hourly rate of the employee is a common mark up for billing clients.

This guy is so smart I really hope he would use his smarts for good. Not to teach others how to rip you off. That’s evil

I've heard similar advice before and I don't see how it works for every industry. Some industries like the screen print apparel design world - there's not enough money in most projects to add 50% or double the cost of the work itself and still make the sale. The only way I could see that working is if you took the risk and hired a designer to make it and you sold it to many customers over time. Maybe I'm missing something?

It’s a great strategy. However I’m a designer because I want to be someone who makes something, being a middleman is far less interesting to me. It also seems worth pointing out that if everyone took this approach, the approach would not work.

You find an employee at or above your level and they say their asking price. They give you a price with their own factor to work for you or to choose their own at or above level employee to work for you.... so you got no where and everyone in the situation is overpaying and over bidding just to "grow".

lol you can see the color grading layer which is still in horizontal position. Great video tho!

I’m learning and applying these very concepts (new for me! Go me!) but what I don’t find on the Futur v much are discussions of the pain points of this exact process. I’m simply trading my problems of having to do the work myself, for the problems that come with managing people and communicating. I’m finding the new problems to be serious, serious beat downs. I believe what you say here, I’m just concerned I’m not cut out for this true entrepreneurship.
