My Most Anticipated Board Games of 2023

It's a new year, with many new games to be released! And with this new year changes to how we've done this video in the past (maybe partially because of outside circumstances). Regardless here are a few of the many new games that caught my eye that will be coming out this year!

There are 3 games I am eagerly anticipating for 2023, and all three are narrative-generators. One is Fallen Land, which is not new but is being greatly revamped with a big new expansion. It will be new to me. GMT has Mr. President due, a solo game that starts as you are taking office. It takes place in the near-past, has "your party" & "opposition party" and is generic with names but obvious has real nations & situations (like China & Iran). It looks brutal, so for me it will be a beer & pretzels game. Finally there is Compass Games' Western Front Ace, a solo game where you are a WWI pilot of one of 7 countries (go Belgium!) trying to survive dogfights. So a different focus for me, but in 2022 I enjoyed Ark Nova, Weather Machine, & Dwellings of Everdell (Eldervale). Always confuse those two!
