Hey friends! With Essen Spiel coming up next week I figured now would be a good time to chat about some games I am looking forward to that are getting released at Essen! Sadly I won't be attending Essen Spiel this year but I am hoping sometime in the future I'll be able to experience the magic that is ESSEN SPIEL! Hope you all enjoy the video!

A game that I just pre-ordered and am very excoted to play: The White Castle
A game that I hadn't heard of before: Satori
A game that I've been interested in for a while: Nokosu Dice
Games that I'm curious about: The Presence and Ezra and Nehemiah

Ezra and Nehemiah (Kickstarter starting soon) nor Scholars of the South Tigris (KS fulfillment soon) are Essen releases.

I love witchcraft and paranormal theme-based games too. Unfortunately no solo for "The Presence"/

I have Town 66, but it's not an extraordinary game, it can be skipped, I find it repetitive (but it's only my point of view).

I'll receive Septima by the end of November (Retail) - I pre-ordered so many games this summer, mein Gott, I'm a tad ashamed! My new kallax is already full!
Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I'm receiving Monolith and Mad King Ludwig II Castles thing + exp. (if one day you go to Essen, take a diversion till Bavaria because it's beautiful and more, you'll see mad castles, among them Neuschwanstein!!!🏰)

I will definitely get Witchcraft! when it comes out, and Ezra and Nehemiah looks interesting, but may be too heavy for what actually hits my table. Thanks for the video!

Great list! Thank you for putting it together! I will definitely check out Sky Rockets. I also had Portals, Evenfall, Witchcraft and Coffee Rush on my list of games I am going to seek out at the show. I will also go take a peek at Septima, but I was fortunate enough to have backed the campaign, so hopefully I'll get my copy soon! My game Gems of Iridescia was also added the the Spiel '23 preview list on BGG. I'll be doing demos of the game at the BackerKit booth on Thursday October 5th from 10AM - 2PM. I am hoping to send a preview copy your way in January :)

I agree with you on the Horror genre actually. So many Cthulhu themed games but the IP is so wide and the games are not really keeping up with the variety. Video games are kind of better with horror but boardgames are lacking.

Have you heard of Forest Shuffle? Theme, artwork (nature) and mechanics (multi-use cards) looks like it would be in your wheelhouse. I am excited to get that one for our group.
