Wishing you a speedy and full recovery. Love the organized chaos in your office and I'm glad to see we use the same Logitech webcam.

You have had a profound influence on my computing this year. Some time in early February, a Windows 10 update on my laptop failed. It left me in an endless loop at boot up, where I could neither logon to Windows nor roll back to an earlier WIndows update. Then I saw your video on Linux Mint Cinnamon. I replaced Windows and now there's no turning back. Linux Mint is a fabulous OS that offers the benefits of Windows with a better design and features that WIndows will never offer. Thanks for your videos - they have helped me recover a $1200.00 laptop from a paper weight to a fully functioning and very exciting new computing experience.

Thanks to you I have been running Linux Mint now for nearly a year. After a few months you suddenly realise it is actually YOUR computer again not Microsoft's!

Be well and thank you for not adding to the madness. Your channel is a pleasant reprieve.

I think I’ve said it before, but your channel has done lots to keep me informed, interested, and motivated. In the past four months, I’ve been pushed to try many new things as a teacher, and the content of this channel has kept me thinking about what to try. Watching the way you produce videos has been particularly helpful, since I’ve been granted a sabbatical in the fall to make short instructional videos. Your efforts and communications are much appreciated!

OMG, I can't believe I have experienced all updates on this channel since December 2017. I never get bored with your content. Way to go Prof. Christopher! And stay safe, recover fast! We all pray for your healthy, long life.

Thanks so much for your channel, Chris. It's great you're dedicated to also provide non SBC videos, especially as they're not big bread winners. I'm particular looking forward to the build video/series and so many others you mentioned.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your infection. All the best to you.

I’m happy to see you are doing well, wish you speedy recovery!

Great video!
And a humour. 😁👌🏻
I’m excited to see all this stuff you announced!
π as a weather station? As a VPN router? Tinker & experimenting? Learning a bit more?
Red alert! Goosebumps in progress! 🤩

Mr Spock, calculate the amount of chrono particles and create time vortex.
Mr Scotty, beam me on Sundays to come.

I'm a (very) late starter. At 68, I am purely an "end user" and I arrived here via 3D printing, which has brought home how little I know about computing and how it works. Much (most) of what you say is like a foreign language and I get the feeling I need to absorb an encyclopaedic volume for "Dummies", just to appreciate the terminology. Thanks for your work, I'm planning a binge weekend on it.

Hope you have a speedy recovery Chris! I love that you always manage to keep your spirits up, especially in such different times! On a side note, I went back in time on Friday and watched your Acer Laptop SSD upgrade, came in useful when swapping out the dead HDD in my old laptop!

Today I finally figured out why I love this channel so much. It's not for the content, although it is excellent. It's not for your expertise, which is superb. It's because, as far as I'm concerned, you are one of the best communicators (presenters) on the YouTube platform. When I watch one of your videos, the way that I feel is that you are talking directly to me -- nobody else. And I believe that everybody else who watches your videos feel the same way. Your ability to present computer related subject matter is appealing to a multitude of generations -- from older people such as myself, to the more intelligent at the elementary school level. You have done a fantastic job with this channel, and I continue to enjoy your content very much. Most people of your academic stature are just sitting on their behinds collecting tenure at this point in their careers. You, on the other hand, have chosen to engage with the world and risk your financial future on monetization payments from Google. Thank you very much for all you do on YouTube. May you have many more productive years, educating all your viewers, ahead. Godspeed.

You are basically honesty personified. In this age of "shouty" television-inspired YT personalities who quite blatantly gun for the subs, a straightforward and straight-talking down to earth approach like yours is appreciated. Obviously a lot of others agree since it wasn't that long ago you had a 500k subscriber "thankyou" vid, now you're at 640k!
Keep doing what you're doing, you do it SO well!

Linux Mint is my favorite distro and since May I've been using it as my main OS on my computer (and on the new computer that I built 3 days ago, your video about the Ryzen Budget PC was really helpful) and I still use Windows 7 on my old PC to play older games and use older Windows software for time to time. Cheers.

I'm so glad that you are okay given all that you've been through. You have been an amazing resource to me to keep my mind busy during this quarantine we are all forced to muster, and you have helped keep my mind refreshed and curious [which is kind of hard to do given the current circumstance]. Thank you for being such a kind, good-hearted content creator. I hope one day [once the world reaches some sort of normalcy] I could hopefully send you some sort of letter or meet you one day to thank you in person. Thank you for being you - and keep up the good work! :)
