I just love the pure honestly. This is one of thing that brought me to your channel in the first place. I like the skeptic approach you take while going through any paper, it just makes me more curious about the paper. For me you are up there with other top educators like Sal Khan, 3blue1brown, and many other.

Not surprised Yannick - your upload rate was insane. I'm glad that now I'll have time to watch all those videos instead of just the most interesting ones.

Meme t-shirts or cartoons based on Machine Learning could be really cool, I'm sure you'd get a lot of support for that and it'll be very unique and fun to wear.

From a ytcreator of the same topic, let me tell you that I'm a big fan and that you totally deserve the success of your channel. Deep explanations of cutting-edge papers, it's brain food. Enjoy your break and keep pushing the channel! 🔥

I wonder if machine learning service companies would be willing to sponsor you, servers, prebuilt models, hardware etc. I'd totally be willing to listen to a 1 minute ad or something near the end of the video and maybe click on a referral link or two. You have a unique subscriber base that might be able to bring that in.

Here is an idea for content: you have some place where people can ask on topic ( you select the topic) or random questions, and you basically do an AMA every few weeks/months. Love the channel, good job.

Kudos to you for not only reaching lots of people with your great educational content, but also to keep going forward to find new ways on making it better!
I think you are connecting lots of amazing people, and great things can be done there.

Enjoy your break time! <3

I agree with your stance on how we should not try to fix bias with more bias. I'm a little torn on what that means about all the current social inequalities due to past bias, maybe we should prioritize people most in need after all - but I think we can do that by taking into account variables other than race.

The scribbles you do on the paper are super helpful for understanding.

Another good thing you do in your videos is to say, “I don’t know” ... why they do xyz. People are always updating their knowledge base and knowing when something is unclear to the teacher helps. We can study that more ourselves if desired.

The way I see the under-representation of minorities is that previously they've been oppressed in some regard which has driven them away from fields such as machine learning as well as general academia. The solution to that has to be systemic, for example funding schools in poorer neighbourhoods so they're more likely to get involved in machine learning and can generally achieve more. Regarding the suggestion, I agree it's a nice sentiment, but really it's like treating a broken bone with painkillers; it doesn't solve the underlying problem.

3:05 You are such a boomer.
.
13:40 Sponsored paper reviews?!?? What a time to be alive. Well, technically. Thats what journals are. You pay the journals to publish your paper and your paper goes in this exclusive club. Again, technically that makes your youtube channel a journal, paid or otherwise :)
.
16:50 I think this is a good argument for being inclusive, as often minorities tend to be economically distressed. So, by lowering the barrier to entry, you are helping a lot.
.
17:44 Thanks for the camera warning. Reminds me of the Tom Scott video where he gave a very jump scary car horn warning.
.
Live coding doesnt have to be "live". I think videos where you just show the results of you messing around is good enough.
.
Historical papers are a good idea. Its good to go back in 2015, 16, 17 when all these new breakthroughs were happening on a daily basis with 7 papers being published every minute. Good times.
.
CNN, DQN, ReLU, Dropout, Adversarial Examples, GAN, Word2Vec etc. These ubiquitous techniques would gain you a lot of views because at any time there are a lot more people who are beginners than intermediates or experts. A lot of these are already in college curriculum so almost everybody has heard about them. Your Transformer video bears the evidence.

Congrats on the 1M views Yannic, enjoy your rest, and keep up the good work! Your technical content is very high quality, easy to follow, and engaging. I very much appreciate your idea of talking about Fairness in AI, and I would encourage you to invite someone from a misrepresented community (i.e. the people who suffer at the hand of AI algorithms) to talk about it when that happens. Best of luck!

Thanks for making great videos.
I’m an undergraduate interested in ML/DL research, and your videos taught me not only interesting ideas but also how to read papers!
Also, past video on programming (Live ML research) was especially helpful for me :)
