I'm 1 hour into this & I notice an underlying theme: a large percentage of the scientists involved are foreign/foreign-born. That has always been the US's strength in innovation -- the ability to attract some of the best minds in world.

Something that all this research and media overlooks when comparing AI and robotics to humans is how much humans can do with each joule of energy. With just an exponential fraction of energy that electronics use, we humans can move, grow, store data, compute, reproduce, convert organic matter into energy, and even do all this while eliminating a constant flow of excess cells. How much energy is being used by these synthetic systems trying to replicate our capabilities. The amount of work per unit of energy that humans can do is astounding - an adult human is operating on just around 110 watts on average!

Finland’s first quantum computer 'Lumi' is 20-qubit quantum computer and opened for companies to resource it in 2023 and we will scale to a 50-qubit quantum computer by the end of 2024.

The "Future Technology | 60 Minutes Marathon" episode brilliantly highlights the urgent need for technological innovation in our rapidly changing world. As an educator and technologist focused on renewable energy, AI, robotics, and cybersecurity, I'm inspired by strides in sustainable energy solutions like solar microgrids and 3D-printed construction, which promise a greener future and resilient solutions for disaster-prone regions. The emphasis on renewable energy and microgrids is essential for climate change mitigation, and advancements in 3D printing can reduce waste, expedite building processes, and create affordable housing. The integration of AI and robotics in these fields opens new avenues for innovation and efficiency, underscoring the importance of ethical considerations to benefit all of society. Kudos to 60 Minutes for showcasing these advancements and sparking important conversations about our future.
