Reviewing Kent Hovind's Claims About Lucy

In this video I review a speech by Kent Hovind about the famous Australopithecus fossil "Lucy".

Thank you for saying "Kent Hovind" and not Dr. Dr. Dr. Kent Hovind.

Kent Hovind has three "PhDs" from Patriot University. This is a "University" run via a trailer by a family. The coursework is at your own pace K-12 homeschool workbooks and/or small booklets (Around 10-20 pages) on topics. Here are questions I've never heard answers from Kent on:

1 - Who sat on your doctoral committee?
2 - What PhDs did you study under?
3 - What coursework challenged you? (Specifically what courses)

Because four small bones equate to two entire hands and two entire feet of Lucy.
Either way, even if you could prove that all of these bones were in the same place, you could not prove that it is ancestor of modern humans. All you know for certain is that it is a creature that might be slightly different than others.

I did enjoy the bit at the end where “Dr” Kent Hovind said he was against lying I almost fell off the treadmill.

Kent has given that speech nearly word for word a few times since he got out of jail. I think he also went over some of it in his “debate” with Gutsick Gibbon (I could be wrong he does a lot of “debates”.

I think Kent gives young earth creationism a bad name which is a fair effort since a lot of your peers are demonstrably fairly dishonest.

In all fairness though, these old presentations of his were from way back in the day when information might not have been as easily accessible and he was working off limited information and limited resources and probably came to his own conclusions based upon his own understanding and may not have intentionally been lying. Kent Hovind isn't even as popular a creationist today as he once was, and perhaps we ought to focus our time and resources on addressing modern arguments by both creationists and evolutionists instead.

Kent’s sheeple are fond of using Kent’s lies about Lucy in their arguments. They also think just because she’s missing parts means she dispels the existence of Australopithecus existing at all despite how more complete specimens have been excavated.

I don't know what Kent hovind said, but Donald johanson ( the guy that discovered lucy) shouldn't be trusted though. His team found almost all of the hominids (what magical touch do they have that others don't?) And he took a drill bit to Lucy in order to make it appear more human, along with claiming bones literally found miles away from Lucy were lucys. He also ignored the very clearly human footprints because "humans obviously won't around yet" and he found Lucy when he was all by himself when he took an alternate route from the one he usually took back to his camp, which was coincidentally only a few days before his scientific grants expired as well.

Simple question for you, how large was the largest group of australopithecus afarensis to live. In other words how many australopithecus afarensis do you estimate have ever lived in the (6? thousand year) history of the earth?

Same question Nakalipithecus Ouranopithecus Oreopithecus Sahelanthropus Orrorin Ardipithecus Homo habilis Homo erectus Homo bodoensis Homo sapiens Neanderthals Denisovans and Homo bodoensis and each of the thousands of unnamed human like creatures.

For each of these groups how large was the largest living population to have ever existed?

That seems to be the general rule rather than the exception when dealing with evolution denying apologists.

the picture actual shows what was found of the specimen AL 228-1 at location 162 (1974). AL-333 (1975) is the location where 217 specimen belonging to 13l individuals of A. afarensis were found and who where dubbed "the First Family" the location of the kneejoint was AL-129-1 (1973)
However none of these specimen became the holotype of Australopithecus afarensis, a holotype is the specimen that is used for the scientific dessciption of a new species.
the holotype os A. afarensis is LH-4 found at Laetoli where Mary Leakey was doing the reseach.

I also wonder WHICH book called Bones of Contention Hovind is showing without revealing the author,
there are quite a few books with that title ( one about the Spanish Civil War ) and there is one written by Roger Levin who worked with the Leakeys and Johanson and tell the storie about the rivalry that emerged between the two groups, only that one has a complete different cover.

He's not an educator. He's not knowledgeable, or interested in knowledge. Just finding ways to convince people of his anti-evolution message, even if it means lying. An educator talking about animals who does not know the word "arboreal"? Claims to be an expert on hominins, but doesn't know the scientific name or where it came from? I've been watching Youtube videos for a month or so regarding human evolution, creationism, etc. I knew "afarensis" didn't refer to Africa.
