my sick sinus hit me in my 30's when i was doing intensive exercising.. heart rate would drop. doc says it was because i was healthy.. later, i dropped to the ground on the run. thought i was dying.. a few hours later, i ended in er. doc said nothing was wrong with me and that i was mental.. he said he would keep me so i would not sue him. duh... i few hours later, my heart went into 7 and 10 second pauses.. temporary pacer inserted in emergency surgery.. have been through 4 pacers in 20 years.. still have problems.. had the cables chaned and i started getting better.. this is not a simple syndrome.

I just received my dual chamber for SSS. I've had AFib at 229 and my heart would beat every night when I slept, in my 30s. During the day I was in the 40-50s. Since the pacemaker, I have not dropped below 60. Still having tachy every now and then. I had all kinds of symptoms. I felt like a yo-yo for two years. Was sent to an EP. Put a loop recorder in for a year and found the SSS. Feel bad for anyone who experiences this type of situation. If your finding no answers make sure you keep at it. Get second opinions if need be. Stay safe and take care.

Last June My 93 year old mum would wake up weak and nauseated...leading to vomiting and for fainting spells. I called 911. The doc in emerg said there was nothing wrong with her and sent us on our way. The following month it happened again but the fainting increased. Doc in emerg said there was nothing wrong with her. She had a holter monitor...nothing. Then, this past September it happened again...this time, I was ready and I video taped one of the events. This time the paramedics watched the video....they told the emerg doc. He watched it and finally they believed me. While in emerg, it happened again...emerg doc saw and mum received a pacemaker right away. Why did it take so long and so much suffering to figure out it was SSS?
