What do you do if the self-realse buttons no longer release the toilet? I'm trying to replace my broken toilet seat with no luck! Take a mallet to it???

thankyou, i just needed to see how these went together, so i can take mine apart,
Feking thing snapped, i dont think that they were deigned right, not enough strength too much load on the hinge

Quick release won't release. Can't get the seat off to retighten. Very frustrating as I can see it's obviously a good design but got a dodgy one.

A mallet would work, you could also try putting a screwdriver between the seat and the hinge and whilst pressing the button, gently levering up the seat (remember to protect any exposed surface that you may be levering against, you don't want to scratch or crack the seat or your toilet pan!). 'Gently' is the key word here, and also remember that if you break it you where about to try a mallet!

Unrelated these seats are great when cleaning; you can remove, put in the bath, bleach and rinse off.

Made three attempts to reposition an existing seat. After the video it was child's play.

wonderful solution that I needed for tighting the toilet seat to the base, as it had been very very loose ever since the plumber came along and installed it.

But what if the expansion nut doesn't fit the hole??? I assumed they were all the same. Now I feel like a pink girl doing a blue boy's job. It's very frustrating.
