Great instructions!. I bought a Luca seat. The directions were incomprehensible. This video shows the importance of disassembling everything first. Excellent work, Allen.

Thank you so much for this video! The toilet manufacturer's own website wouldn't conveniently provide these instructions. This video enabled be to remove, clean, and reinstall/tighten the seat. Many thanks!!

The butterfly mechanism you used to fix to the seat saved my day today as the repair kit fixtures didn't fit in the two holes ... job done

I have the same type of seat, Winchester I think it's called, which was the search term I used to find your video. I didn't need to install it, but I needed to know how to tighten the 2 placeholders and this video did the trick for me. *thumbs up*

TIP: Insert a thin screw driver down the hole to block the anchor from turning with the screw so that you can tighten it. Using a power drill helps a lot too. Screw it CLOCKWISE to tighten.

If you do one thing in your life make sure its this - DO NOT BUY A S(h)IT TIGHT TOILET SEAT unless you like spending hours rolling around on the floor, sweating and swearing. Im not a violent person and am usually pretty laid back but if the person behind this design walked in right now I would bludgeon them to death with my adjustable spanner. Actually the only useful thing in the box was the tool to tighten the nuts, so you actually might not need a spanner depending if the tool fits your old seat.

I bought one today from Homebase (they dont even list them on their website even though several designs on the shelf which annoyingly has prevented me writing a review to warn others and tell them to look at a different brand/design) I dont do loads of DIY but wouldnt say I am a novice having fully stripped down and rebuilt a mountain bike in the past, set up all hydraulic brakes, suspension etc, tiled, built flat pack products, set up mouse trap on Christmas day etc etc.

The hinges on mine were soft close rectangular cheap chromed plastic in several so called slot together bits which didnt fit together very securely (nothing like whats shown in the video and this is where the main problem lies). Your then left with the task of rolling around on the floor trying to line up two wobbly hinges that wont sit right or flat to the pan due to the stay closed feature, and pop apart. I gave up with their sit tight feature in the end which is basically using a tube of glue and a gasket. Its still Patent pending according to the packaging, good look with that ground breaking idea in the Dragons Den. Still dont believe me how rubbish and frustrating this seat design is, well look at the video they cant even be bothered to check if the toilet pan is clean first before videoing which says it all about the company.

If the manufacturer/importer was local rest assured the toilet seat would be getting delivered through their window. All though now installed out of principle I think I will remove and return to Homebase for a refund, and swop for a toilet seat with a simple hinge system and stick some loctite on the threads. I would rather take my ex mother in law to dinner than give it to the bunch of Sh**sters behind these loo seats. Also I cant see the plastic hinges being very longlife.
