hi Mr.Falk, i don't mean to sound like a know everything about the drums (because you are a much better and more expierenced drummer than I am) but i was told by my drum teacher to always play the bass drum when you crash, i did not hear it in this video. just thought i would point it out, thank you for the best online drum lessons ever, hope you can get back to me

It depends which drum I am playing doubles on. If it is a tom then I will use more wrist muscles to get the power. On the snare its a combination of wrist strokes and bouncing.

Finally got it and the "tom - tume - tone - tune" repeating which helps a lot after it drills into your head ... now to build some build and scare the neighbours ... thanks again Jared! And also finally got them close to your tunings after months of tweaking.

They serve the same purpose as moon gel or o-rings; dampening overtones from the drum.

I've got a question about these exercises, how long should they be done? I've been them to a metronome for 1 minute a day ( fast as I can play relaxed for 1 minute, similar to the WFD competition). Should I be going longer?

I agree, this guy gives great lessons and advice which actually helps people to improve, which is difficult to find in online lessons.

try searching Mike Johnston drum lessons, he gives great free lessons on youtube too, im sure you'll learn something from his videos

or you could start on the snare with it and roll it through the toms its a little more metal i think but thats what im mostly into so i think it would sound cool
