🚨 We join the worldwide community in support of Ukraine and international sanctions inflicted on the Russian government. Cybernews do not tolerate the bloodshed, human right abuses, and allegedly Geneva Convention violations the Russian army has inflicted on the Ukrainian people and won’t stand in support of companies that might help enable it. To avoid any possible ties with Russian government funded businesses, we do not recommend using Kaspersky as an antivirus provider due to their broadly discussed close contact with the country’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

Getting the best antivirus software is crucial, as new cyber threats, like ransomware, spyware, and malware appear every day – they are even more infectious than before.

KASPERSKY ALTERNATIVES:

==========================

🔥 Bitdefender antivirus - best overall antivirus protection
The results from multiple independent antivirus testing labs have shown that Bitdefender is an elite antivirus software. It protects your web surfing, banking, and if you haven’t set automated updates, this service will inform you when it’s time to patch up your system.

I also particularly liked the anti-webcam hijack feature that comes with the Internet Security 2022 plan. Along with parental controls and a two-way firewall, it helps to keep your children safe.

==========================

🚀 Norton antivirus - bevy of security features
Norton, after nearly three decades from launch, remains a reputable name in the antivirus industry – independent antivirus testers score it highly. What’s more, this provider packages arguably the most extensive list of cybersecurity tools.

To sum up, Norton 360 offers excellent protection while not overloading your device. It’s easy to use but at the same time provides plenty of options for advanced users. And while the prices are high, one would be hard-pressed to find a better deal when buying all the components one-by-one.

==========================

🧨 TotalAV antivirus - essential package, great for beginners
TotalAV is a reliable antivirus service that protects you from all kinds of online threats. The bar of entry is low, and everyone can make use of their product.

It includes a malware scanner for your local cleanup. With it, you will be able to purge nasty viruses from your device. On the online frontier, you'll be getting anti-phishing protection.

So the two cons for Kaspersky in this video are it's expensive and there was an allegation with NSA file being uploaded to Kaspersky's site inferring they did something wrong. When you understand what's at stakes here ($$$ and time lost) and when your system gets taken down by viruses, ransomwares, malwares, keyloggers, spywares, phishing, and others, those "cons" aren't cons in my book.

BTW the incident involving your first con dealing with that reckless NSA agent who had classified data on his laptop which was a violation per his agency's policy, that data was NSA produced, National level virus which Kaspersky antivirus correctly identified as a possible threat, having unknown signature had the file uploaded to Kaspersky servers for further investigation (per user agreement), and once Kaspersky's team realized this was NSA classified viral program, they immediately deleted all their records and contacted the proper US authority. In other words, your first con isn't a con and I wish you had pointed that out more clearly. Far as I can tell, Kaspersky seems like a good company.

A lot of the allegations against Kaspersky were unfounded - I'd never trust anything else on my PC. Flawless, fast, NOT expensive (that too is inaccurate - I paid about £12.49 on a promo for a 2 YEAR licence this year). When I was given a friend's laptop that was RIDDLED with pop-ups and malware, Kaspersky mashed through it all.
Sure, if you want to leave yourself less protected, use one of the inferior ones for the sake of a bit of virtue signalling. But if you actually do value your security at all sorts of random attack times - definitely get Kaspersky. 👍🏻
Also Norton is SO BAD that users have had to make their own Uninstall tool for it - as it refuses to leave your system through the normal procedures - much like a parasite. Or one could even suggest "malware".

The thing is Kaspersky is not aligned to any one country. It is a global company each country run locally. For instance, Kaspersky UK is run from the UK by UK citizens. I'm sure you will find that Kaspersky US is the same. Let's be honest, if anything untoward was happening at Kaspersky, it wouldn't be long before all the other AVG companies would know about it and warn people. Why would Kaspersky want to self-destruct an amazing global business with amazing global products? I don't get it.

Kaspersky is always on top 3 best AV software in the market.
I've been using Kaspersky for 5 years. Started from Internet Security Package and upgraded to Total Security recently.
The performance is out of the questions and I feel safe when using it.
Sure, Kaspersky might have faced with accusation for gathering info for Russian government, but I reckon others might have done it more or less.
The only drawback is that Kaspersky VPN does not include in the security package which can be improved, imo.

You conclude that Kaspersky is a good antivirus. Then why do you write "not recomended?" Maybe because you were too busy telling people to like and subscribe?
Kaspersky is one of the best antiviruses outthere, but I prefer Eset because it is so light.

I have been trying to install the free version to see if I like it before buying, but I am having trouble. I used to have Avira, but started having problems so I decided to change. I uninstalled Avira from my Win 10 desktop. I have tried several times to install Kaspersky, but it finds Avira Launcher and offers to delete it. I choose to delete then it wants to restart the computer which I let it do and again finds Avira Launcher! When I search for the file to uninstall or delete I can’t find it. What do I do?

As far as I would surmise, the particulars of the Kaspersky Controversy don't matter. What ultimately matters is that as a Russian company, they are under threat of being nationalized. Of course it would be a kamakaze move. If there is a massive cyber-attack with the common denominator being Kaspersky, then you can count on the company folding internationally afterward. So this is really only a concern in a WW3 scenario.

I purchased Kaspersky Premium for $25 per year. ( this is the first AV package I've used that catches remote registry hacks ) So far I've been very happy with the performance of this software.

I am using Kaspersky since it's the only antivirus I could find available for Cuba, and it works really fine. It detected some malware on my PC and it consumes less resources than Microsoft Defender. The only thing I don't like is the VPN because it doesn't work properly. I live in Cuba and due to the 'embargo' many websites are blocked. Guess what, Kaspersky VPN does not help me bypass those restrictions, which I found kind of weird, since that is one of the aims of VPNs among others functions. Overall, I like it very much, it's very easy to use and it's not intrusive.
