Professor Zoom was actually a cool name, it made Thawne seem like his own character and not just the opposite of The Flash

Eobard Thawne - went by Reverse Flash and Professor Zoom (Now only goes by Eobard Thawne and Reverse Flash)

Hunter Zolomon - went by Reverse Flash and Zoom during the Wally West Flash era (Now only goes by Zoom)

In the comics they both have the same suit which makes it confusing as well

In the show they gave zoom a new suit which looks awesome and make the two recognizable
