End of an era. Wrestling was never the same again once WCW was gone

Next might be the continuation of 2001 through the invasion angle or the rest of 1997.

And if they hadn't turned Stone Cold Steve Austin heel and actually had all the major WCW talent on board for a proper Invasion angle (ending at Wrestlemania X8 with all the dream matches the fans wanted), they could have had one more year of greatness. As it was though, this really did spell the end for wrestling. After this we saw not only the Monday Night War come to an end...but wrestling's popularity as a whole (supported by over two subsequent decades of ratings declining). Then you had the jumping of the shark that was the brand split (the company faking competition with itself), the name change to WWE (which will always sound lame compared to WWF), increasingly more embarrassing creative drivel, the departures of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin (with no one even coming close to their level of popularity since), the elevation of mid card and indie level talent to positions they have no business being in, and a rising reliance on appealing to the very worst type of wrestling fan....and the only fans they really have left at this point (typical smarks who treat wrestling like a sport instead of a form of scripted entertainment and hate anything that might appeal to anyone outside of their own smarky bubble)...

Sad night. Great time. Austin is done wrestling less than 2 years later. Rock goes to Hollywood. Wrestling peaked. 😢😢😢

Hey Sir, Could you do a SVR 2002, 2003 era. Because that was a time they had big star powers. And who were the biggest draw in that time.

If you don’t mind me asking it sucks that this is going to be your last video on the entire Monday night war but I want to know what will you be covering in the future?

What was ECW's highest rated viewership from 1996-2001.

This was truly the beginning of the end for Pro wrestling at South and ever since then it hasn’t been the same just looking at a lot of these videos that you have done on the entire ratings war just goes to show that today’s wrestling well never compare The 1990s was such a special time to be a wrestling fan and I’m glad that I was around to witness it all I remember Watching deaths on TV when it happened at the time I didn’t wanna believe that wcw was gone I remember going on tnt the following Monday to see if nitro was going to come on that was when I realize that wcw was gone forever
