If only they continued the momentum of this. A Shane run WCW retaining most of the original stars would have been fucking sick

Vince had the best swallow/gulp reactions 😅😂 when acting like he was shocked, hilarious.

I was there in Panama City on the very last Nitro. My girlfriend and I shed tears as years of being a fan of the business and seeing most of the WCW stars perform for the very last time. And when Shane came out he received a giant pop. The guy next to me spilled his drink all over my jeans but I was in the moment like he was, I didn't care. Can't believe that was twenty years ago. Let's hope AEW does indeed end up having the longevity of being a fierce competitor to WWE. The wrestling world desperately needs competition.

If you really stop and think about this moment, this was basically one last spit in the face towards WCW. Vince basically used the ending of WCW to help further a storyline about the McMahon family.

When the camera showed Shane's name beside WCW Monday Nitro on the screen, that was unreal.

Imagine if Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, Lex Luger and especially Sting and Goldberg were part of the Invasion storyline, that would’ve been a total game changer

Man I miss these days. You'll never get clliffhanger endings on Raw or SmackDown like you did back then.

I think the invasion angle was a respectful way to shelve a company tbh. They didn’t just buy them the forget about them, they bought them and used them one last time for a great storyline in the WWE’s history.

Shane McMahon is the only McMahon I'd trust running a wrestling company.

I just love the commentary here by J R and Paul Heyman. They really built up the story even more with their commentary.
