Reliving The War takes a week-by-week look at the Monday Night War. Fans would choose which show to watch when WWF Raw is War and WCW Nitro aired at the same time every Monday night, both companies would fight for the all-important weekly TV ratings as the Monday Night War became a battle for survival. Reliving The War aims to look at every match and promo throughout this entire era.

lnternal management struggles continue on WCW Nitro this week but, thankfully, some matches are still made; Raven and Saturn defend their tag titles against Horsemen Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit, Kevin Nash takes on DDP in a Slamboree main event rematch, and David Flair gets another shot at the big time when he faces Buddy Lee Parker.

The WWF are getting prepared for the Over The Edge 99 pay per view and a few big matches get booked for raw this week; we've got The Undertaker vs The Rock in a casket match, and in the main event Stone Cold Steve Austin takes on Triple H. This episode of Raw also features Owen Hart's final televised match.

I swear to God, I will hate when the series comes to an end, there is nothing like Thursday nights with wrestling bios and reliving the war 🐺 👑

"This episode of Raw also features Owen Hart's final televised match." Tearing up already, man... 🙏🖤 Can't believe it's been 25 years since he died.

That Long Live Owen Hart sign was my sign. It's always an honor seeing Owens memory not be forgotten, and I'm glad that picture still makes rounds today to honor his legacy. Gonna be an emotional Reliving the War next week. Gonna shed some tears.

Shane McMahon and David Flair going head to head on opposite shows? 1999 is a hell of a drug.

Next week's reliving the war will be the hardest to watch in my opinion

I’ll always wish we got to see David Flair vs Mongo McMichael. What a classic that would have been.

Can't believe that nobody mentioned rick Steiner having his beard colour the inverted of Scott's. Best attire matching of all time.

The Undertaker being tied to his symbol and then lifted in the air and the undertaker's demonic laugh echoing in the arena along with his dark music was very very scary.

I still remember when you were covering the 1997 period. A friend of mine encouraged me to watch your videos.

Charles Robinson MUST be a DLC character in the next WWE2K game. 99 overall stats included.

The no mercy 1999 ladder match between edge & Christian vs the hardy boyz was the highlight of the year 😂😂

It makes sense to divide the two episodes next week, for there is no war next week. The guns lay silent on both sides in respect.

RIP Owen Hart. We still miss you.

This is it...

This is the last time we'll see Owen Hart alive.

The Hardyz vs Edge and Christian feud would be one of the high points of 1999 WWF. Looking forward to reliving it.

I remember reading that Owen Hart was supposed to have "The Game" moniker sometime after playing the Blue Blazer. I think Triple H used it as a tribute but it did help propel his career further.

"Robinson wrestled his second match one week later, teaming with Flair to face Randy Savage and Madusa on an episode of WCW Monday Nitro. In the course of the match, Savage delivered a botched diving elbow drop to Robinson, cracking several of his vertebrae and collapsing his lung." From li'l Naytch's wikipedia

It’s amazing to look at the rosters even in 1999 and say that top-to-bottom WCW still probably has more star power, and workhorse wrestlers.

WWFs top heels have either never been in a PPV main event (HHH) or are injured (Taker) BUT they have absolute peak Austin and Rock.
Goes to show how important booking with logic and continuity is.

Donating to the Owen Hart Fund is probably the most jam-up thing I've ever seen from you and your channel.

Truly exceptional.

Stay safe and sane, Brother.
