Recently picked up a 2007 R8 - most amazing tone and feel of any guitar I’ve played. Discovered 2007 was a year they were using old growth Honduran mahogany & Madagascar rosewood. Not sure of the effect but the guitar just sings. Not sure what years they were allowed to source that wood but my newer LP’s sound sorta dead in comparison.
