Is 1 MILLION people city possible in Cities Skylines 2?

u basically did what china did, building all the high rise without the demand. and building it so far away from commercial and industrial zone

I had city of 120k and it was still much smaller than that. The key is to build methodically

you zoned too quickly, like someone else said. i have found starting with a small section gets traffic and people moving around that area which makes it a good place to then lay down commercial. if you zone too much it will get built but then have no people and collapse.

am at 400k atm and still run at 45fps sim is some what slower but still smooth. and i dont have nasa pc. r7 7800x3d and a 7800xt and 64gb ram and on high settings. the problem with the game is ur buildings. delete 90% wait for the 10% to fill up than zone more bit by bit

You only have demand for low residential in the beginning. Because you are only places large appartement building nobody will live in the tall buildings. If you first build a few large areas with normal houses, demand for the skyscrapers will grow very quickly and you'll be able to have all of them occupied by people. Give it a try and get that million

I’m up to 480k and it runs so SLOW. We are talking 1 day in the game takes 3-4 hours in real life.

how this game have simple building model (same as citizen model) but hard to render.... not optimized model? the LOD is broken

i got 300k before the update .. now 435k.. and keep going up... i dont nothing more. WTF. ryzen 5600x very slow now.

Im at 500k 0 lag. I think you didnt plan it. I have industry, commercial and parks. They are flowing in 200 bit by bit. I will update you when i hit 1mil. Halfway there. Oh i am using cheap laptop. 600 bucks ryzen 5, rtx 3050 ti 4gb. I dont think you need a nasa cpu. Just good planning on city and building the proper necessity. 👌 500k, s far so good. Traffic is almost non existence. They are all using taxi, buss and working.

As far as I know, I think you can get to 1 million people just how you built the city made it so no one wanted to move in and people were unhappy in the city if everyone was happy people would move in
