Auto layout allows you to set margins and padding to your frames so that you can build scalable and responsive components. In this tutorial, we'll be going over Figma's auto layout feature.

Hot keys:

Create frame: [ F ]

Make a frame of selected objects: [ opt ⌥ + cmd ⌘ + G ]

Duplicate object:
- select object, then hold [ opt ⌥ ] and drag
- [ cmd ⌘ ] + D

Create multiple instance of the same object with spacing:
select object,
hold [ opt ⌥ ] and drag to desired space,
then hit [ cmd ⌘ ] + D

Select multiple objects: hold down [shift]

Hi, nice video. I have a question. Why do you always add a frame and then apply the auto-layout? Cant we simply group the elements and add the auto-layout?
