I think terran is unbalancable in it's current state.

With zerg and protos having explosive units to counter terran, it's primarily up to the skill of the terran to minimize damage. In which a terran can avoid massive hits and bad ones die to them.

This is compounded with terran siege units, in which they have both land and air ones. Protos's main siege unit is the tempest, which is countered by viking which also counters colossus. Zerg's main siege is just countered by libs.

And yes, there are deeper compoundings of army comp. Which brings up the fact that terran is the only race that has a mineral only unit that can hit air, a unit which gets additional defensive and offensive upgrade. Making them, in good player hands, impeccable fighting units, but in bad players hand still decent.

Point is, terran in good hands have many more options that force the other races to have a plan. While in bad hands can feel impossibly weak

The reason we keep seeing armour before attack is just because of how the hand hits the keys (marriage finger before index finger) and if you don't have enough money only the 'A' key registers and not the 'E' key.

On the question of armor upgrades first, I have a theory:

The first marines are not meant to do damage unless they have an overwhelming advantage. It's more important in those early moments to have enough marines to defend than it is to deal damage.

Yeah Maru once was thoughted to have solved TvZ but I would definitely say if anyone has "solved" TvZ its clem. No one comes remotely close to Clems TvZ. Tell me when the last time Maru 8-0'd Serral let alone beat him
