Haunting rendition. I'm almost 40 and this may be the greatest cover I have ever seen. No matter which version is your personal preference, those lyrics strike to the core. "We'll pretend its okay" is so relatable and heartbreaking. To all my mid 30 to mid 40 somethings out there. Hope life is going good and if not, I hope it does sooner than later.

“I guess this is growing up” hits completely now. 90s kid here and loved this song back in middle school and it hits completely different now. In the best way possible. Used to rock the hell out to this as a teen, so many good memories. Now I'm grown and listening to this rendition and it changes the whole perspective of the song, this hits different. Alexandra Kay, you are talented and have evidently reconnected so many people with their teenage years whilst simultaneously painting an entirely different picture of this song for so many of us.
