Lukla Airport, officially known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport, is considered the world's most dangerous airport. Located in Nepal at an elevation of 9,334 feet (2,845 meters), it serves as the gateway to the Everest region. The airport's perilous reputation stems from its short 1,729-foot (527-meter) runway, which ends in a steep drop into a valley. Pilots face challenging weather conditions, unpredictable winds, and limited visibility, making takeoffs and landings exceptionally hazardous. The surrounding mountainous terrain adds to the difficulty, requiring precise maneuvering. Despite its dangers, Lukla remains a vital access point for trekkers and climbers heading to Mount Everest. #shorts

Been there, done that (except the Lukla operation). I flew the DHC-6 and Do228 a lot into tough conditions and never dented anything. The only time I experienced really "high and hot" conditions was ferrying a Twin Otter through Addis Abeba, hot but still below 8000'. The big surprise was discovering what a FAST landing speed does to a Twin Otter that has never needed to have it's tires balanced.
