Why not make contributions to the monarchy voluntary? We will see how many Royalists there truly are then.

He has 2 billion in his account yet millions of taxpayers money spent on him . The disparity between the rich and poor is ridiculously huge. May God save the poor

The British Monarchy exempts itself from Laws that other citizens face which the people find unfair.

I don't understand why do they have to uphold that tradition of having king and queen. Eventually the citizens will get tired of these royal families especially in times of hard times and economic recessions.

These people are right. There is no need of kings in 21st century in the times of democracy and constitutional values.

And BBC was questioning the expenditure by india on space exploration while completely ignoring millions of dollars of tax payers' money being flushed every year down the rabbit hole in their own still waiting for their documentary on this topic.

Thank you. This is the kind of coverage we deserve in the UK, but the establishment is afraid to allow it. Well done, Al Jazeera.

Outrageous how many people in UK are struggling whilst monarchy is in the billions. Outdated especially the costumes & medals.

What goes around comes around. There's always a beginning for everything in life and there will always be an end to it.

I often think about it and don't understand why do those people who have oxford and many other universities, and they teach others about democracy, people's right etcetera still adopt a tradition which supports a family will be called as royal family, a child will be born in their family, a normal human child but eventually will become a prince or princess, and people will spend their money to adopt their aristocratic lifestyle and become curious about their interest, their daily life or their family issues. It's all funny to me. From Bangladesh.

perhaps they should reduce their ceremonial 'duties' by 99% to save money and all members of the royal family should get real jobs

Charlie will become king but, his female will never be my queen, ever.
She’s divorced yet managed to marry the future king. History and rules get changed just as it suits them.

His personal wealth is 2 billion, yet the taxpayer has to foot the bill for his coronation, 250 million while his people are starving and have to go to food banks to survive

It's ridiculous that in 21st century the Great Britain and Northern Ireland is still a Kingdom.

Do you think the Monarchy ever thought about giving a large sum of money to the homeless and struggling British people. They would not even miss that money and it could bring so much basic necessities to these unfortunate folks???

I still don't get it what is the point of having a monarch in this age.

King or Queen belong in a story book. It is old out dated and costing people big $$$ in maintaining the royals upper lip life style. Harry had the right idea. Get out of it! Good on him.
