I have been bitten by these twice already in Taiwan. It's quite the unique pain, the second time I immediately knew what's up. Took all of my clothes off in a hurry, turned out one had slithered under my rain jacket.
These are very agressive, hang from trees and bushes and will just latch on to you.
Insecticides like permethrin don't show much of an effect on them either.

I lived in Hawaii for many years and these things would crawl up the shower drains……WHILE you were taking one. Never as big as these guys, but big enough.

I believe those "fangs" are actually also legs, called forcipules. They function as fangs yes but are a unique mechanism to centipedes. Still love these dastardly draconic invertebrates.
