UK to ban machetes in bid to halve knife crime

A weapons amnesty has been announced ahead of the UK's ban on machetes and zombie knives.

Labour says it is the first step in the plan to halve knife crime.

What a stupid policy, if someone doesn’t use a machete, they’ll use a massive kitchen knife instead. Banning the item wont help, it’s about providing better funding to the police and stricter sentences for those who use knifes in violent crimes. I hate how we don’t even have a say in any of these laws they push through as well.

Why is UK so anti-knife? When I was a kid all the boys were carrying bladed objects of some sort, often pocket knives or fishing/hunting blades. They were never used on others, only incident I recall is when my friend used his to carve obscenities on his school desk and he had to stay after hours to sand the damage away
