Thanos is really well done. Josh Brolin did a great job. The CGI for Thanos is among the best there is.
But he just isn't as intimidating as Darkseid. Ray Porters Darkseid voice is in a class by itself. Snyder did a great job in putting Darkseid on film.

Both are great but Darkseid had the better ending, his goal was clear and he was ready to roll 🔥. If the scene of thanos was at the end of guardians I think it would’ve worked better. Instead it was at the end of Ultron which had nothing to do with him.

Darkseid no question. When he says ready the Armanda and walks out, he means business no giggles or smiles to the Camera.

Thanos doing the job himself is nothing compared to Darkseid going old skool if the best options did not work.

Darkseid is much stronger and a better villain with genuine evil nature unlike Thanos who can be characterized as an antihero. But Thanos was adapted way better than Darkseid because Marvel listens to their fans unlike Warner Bros who hates it's fans. It's sad that this was the only bit we'll see of this version of Darkseid.
