How to keep a chainsaw starting fast and running smooth

The #1 CAUSE of chainsaw engine trouble is the forming of petroleum gum/varnish in the carburetor. Here's everything you need to know about keeping your chainsaw starting fast and running smooth! Sea Foam in chainsaw fuel is always working to keep carburetor passageways clean and clear of gum/varnish residues – plus it lubricates the upper cylinder, and protects fuel from getting stale, heavy and sticky. #SeaFoamWorks

I've been handed a lot of saws by local contractors. I've added Seafoam to fuel during maintenance for the last two years. Big performance boost. I remind them to use 50:1 mix + 89 to 91 octane fuel with an added 2 ounces of SeaFoam per gallon. Great & informative video.

Awesome job explaining how chainsaws work, makes it easier to conceptualize the effort!

I must admit I was skeptical this stuff would work. My saw was smoking like a chimney, stalling left and right and had trouble starting. I thought I would have to take the carb apart and clean it. I did exactly what you instructed on this video and after letting it sit in for a couple nights I refueled it and after a few minutes she was running like new and it took care of the smoking issue. Thanks for the advice I recommend it to anyone!

This guy is the best! Very informative. I’m not fond of the brand new videos. My opinion.

Glad I found this video. I have 2 saws that I was wondering about using seafoam in.

I recommend Sea Foam to all of my small engine repair customers. Especially for machines like snowblowers that see harsh winter conditions. I use it on my own vehicles and machines because it works!

Is it ok to let it sit with the seafoam mixture through the winter?

I was wondering about just using a couple of cans of seafoam and adding oil to it for a 50:1 premix and burn a tank of that in my chainsaw.

After starting the saw and then shutting it down, I dumped out the gas and started it on seafoam. It still bogged down when throttled but I left it overnight. The next day it started, throttled up and performed a couple test cuts. I refilled it with gas and the normally recommended ratio of Sea Foam to gas ratio and it ran fine. I guess it's legit.

Coulda done without the minute long intro, but other than that good video

I am concerned that they recommend running the saw low on fuel then adding 2 to 4 ounces of Seafoam without adding a drop of 2 stroke oil to keep the saw lubricated. I love Seafoam but this seams like a recipe for problems especially with new saws that factory tuned to run very lean while using a 50 to 1 oil ratio. If you do add Seafoam directly to the tank, please measure out the correct ratio of 2 stroke oil and mix with the seafoam just like you would do with gas. Just because your fuel system is having trouble is no reason to take it out on a perfectly good piston and cylinder.
