My dad was like that. When I got older he told me that he had an office job and hated every minute of it, and things got better when he became a laborer on an off shore oil rig. He said it was hard work, but he was so much happier and had no stress.

I was literally this guy. Worked in a corporation. Now I am a truck driver. Life is good.

The money's good, and construction work offers a change of scenery with each job but it's not something you'd want to stay in all your life. The labor can often drain you, leaving not much free time and boy does it stack up over the years.

I’m in my 50’s and retired from what in the end was an executive management job the last 4 plus years. Meetings, personnel issues, stress from all directions was daily life. I’ve decided to go back to blue collar work which allows me to be outside all day, work with my hands, and use various sorts of heavy equipment, kind of like being a ranch hand but in a slightly more urban environment. I do have the security of not needing the job but I really like it. Makes me feel strong and younger, prideful with a sense of accomplishment. I also feel connected to every single male family member I ever had in my life, many of whom have passed on. As Lawrence and Peter say “F’ing A.”

Do this for ten years and see how fun it still is

I used to have some corporate job as an environmental geologist. Hated that job got canned from it after 2 years. Hit up one of my my old geology buddies from college a few months after and he said come be a mudlogger/wellsite geologist out in west Texas out by the oil rigs. True it’s 12 hour shifts but it’s nice to be away from home for 2-3 weeks at a time and not be micromanaged a ton. Plus you get to learn some basic mechanical skills setting up the logging and tech equipment we use. But otherwise it’s a pretty chill job most of the time.

I see people saying how good or bad Pete's new job is but I think he's just happy that he is clearing the office building that he hates to go to. It's like his hate went away and he's happy now.

After seeing this movie so many times...why the hell did I never notice Lumbergh just casually strolling up behind them? LOL.

I always thought one of the things overlooked in the movie was the true friendship between Peter, Michael and Samir.
