Even if the people in the military said were not gonna stand and fight it wouldnt take 72hrs for just the citizens and their arms to make it to the west coast and then you have a few million citizens with the firepower that no ground force wouldnt hesitate to hop back on their boats and pray they got out of fireing range of the citizens.
There isnt any other country that can step foot on the US and just hope for survival.
There will never be a war on the ground in the US.

Takes time to get those troops home, especially if the enemy gets us chivvied into a proxy war somewhere.
